Adults age 50-74 presenting to either of two Shanghai community health centers for colorectal cancer screening were recruited to provide an additional fecal specimen (in RNAlater) if their screening sample was positive for occult blood. Fecal DNA was extracted, amplified for V3-V4 16S rRNA sequences, and paired-end sequenced by Illumina.
