Snow water equivalent data at the Poker Flat Research Range (PFRR) during the winter of 2023-2024

At the Poker Flat Research Range of the University of Alaska Fairbanks, the CS725 sensor is installed to observe snow water equivalent (SWE). The CS725 is, in fact, a gamma radiation spectrometer specifically designed for the purpose of measuring SWE.
Natural gamma radiation from the ground is produced by traces of long-lived radioactive elements contained within it. The most abundant of these elements are Potassium-40 (40K) and Thallium-208 (208Tl). The estimates of snow water equivalent due to these elements (40K and 208Tl) are represented by "CS725_SWE_K_mm" and "CS725_SWE_TL_mm," respectively. The data is observed at 6-hour intervals, with blanks indicating missing values. The CS725 is manufactured by CAMPBELL SCIENTIFIC, INC.
