Ecology Lab 2- techniques & data: field training with plants (Asclepias syriaca)

Our group investigated the common milkweed Asclepias syriaca on the afternoon of September 24 at a grassland on the York University Keele Campus in Toronto. This dataset consists of information pertaining to 20 individuals of the target species found along a randomly placed 25 foot transect tape. Individuals within one metre of either side of the transect tape were measured with another transect tape for total height in feet. The number of leaves and flowers found on an individual were also counted and the level of crowding was determined using a scale of 0-3 where 0 indicates no crowding and 3 involves intense crowding among a 50cm radius of the selected individual.
