In this study, the efficient isolation and identification of distinctly heat-adapted fungi from easily accessible substrates and locations was performed. Eight compost piles and ten soil sites were sampled with different culture-dependent approaches for the isolation and selection of thermophilous and heat-resistant fungi. The isolates were taxonomically assigend by MSP-PCR and barcode sequencing. 32 fungal species were obtained.
