Biofilms have been found to protect Clostridium perfringens from exposure to high concentrations of antibiotics and oxygen. To obtain a comprehensive understanding of C. perfringens biofilms, RNA sequencing (RNA-seq) and the isobaric tags for relative and absolute quantification (iTRAQ) method were used to identify differentially expressed genes and proteins , respectively, between C. perfringens biofilm and planktonic cells.
