Ixodid ticks were collected opportunistically from domestic animals and wildlife during veterinary procedures at multiple locations, including livestock ranches and wildlife conservancies, in Laikipia County, Kenya, and surrounding areas. Field sampling occurred in 2014-2016 and ticks were subsequently analyzed for the presence of tick-borne pathogens, endosymbionts, and other microbes using Fluidigm PCR and Illumina sequencing.
