MICROBIAL PROFILING OF UROTHELIAL CARCINOMA AND BENIGN BLADDER TISSUE FROM FORMALIN FIXED SPECIMENS

This proof-of-concept study demonstrates that microbiome sequencing from FFPE TURBT specimens can be used for microbiota assessment, and effectively distinguish UCC from benign pathology, and bladder microbiomes are vastly depleted following BCG treatment, indicating significant therapy induced microbiome alterations.
