The rapid expansion of digital technologies has significantly transformed the landscape of education, particularly in the field of English language teaching (ELT). Distance education has become a vital alternative to traditional classroom instruction, especially during global disruptions such as the COVID-19 pandemic. However, despite its advantages, distance teaching of English presents numerous pedagogical, technological, and psychological challenges. This article explores the major problems encountered in online English language instruction and proposes practical, evidence-based solutions to enhance teaching effectiveness. The study employs qualitative analysis of existing literature and practical observations to identify key issues such as lack of interaction, technological barriers, assessment difficulties, and learner motivation. The findings suggest that integrating interactive tools, adopting blended methodologies, improving digital literacy, and designing learner-centered strategies can significantly improve outcomes in distance ELT.
