We extracted total viral RNA from 200 uL of patients serum using TaKaRa MiniBEST Viral RNA/DNA Extraction Kit (TaKaRa, Japan). RNA was transcribed to cDNA using the TaKaRa PrimeScript RT Master Mix kit (TaKaRa, Japan). A total of 14 samples from Jiangxi with relatively high dengue virus copies and two samples from Huashan Hospital were prepared for high-throughput sequencing.
