Comparative shotgun metagenomic analysis of diets in sympatric aoudad, desert bighorn sheep, and mule deer in the Chihuahuan desert

This study used shotgun metagenomic sequencing of fecal samples to compare the diets of aoudad, desert bighorn sheep, and mule deer in the Chihuahuan Desert of West Texas. The findings highlight how invasive aoudad may affect native ungulates and the importance of continued monitoring for effective wildlife management.
