Effects of sugarcane polyphenols and fiber mix on pig faecal microbiota

This study aimed to examine the effects of sugarcane polyphenol and fiber mix (Phytolin+Fiber) on gut microbiota, short-chain fatty acids (SCFAs) production and phenolic metabolites production using in vitro digestion and fermentation model. Microbial profiling by 16S rRNA sequencing was used to analyze the pig fecal microbiota profile. SCFAs were identified and quantified by GC-FID, and phenolic metabolites were characterized by LC-ESI-QTOF-MS/MS.
