Evaluation of the natural bacterial diversity of field-caught Ae. aegypti infected with Wolbachia

This project describes the natural bacterial microflora of Wolbachia-infected Ae. Aegypti via 16S rDNA profile. Samples were collected in release and control areas of Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Through the sequencing of siRNA the natural virome of Wolbachia-infected and non-infected Ae aegypti will be characterized and compared with Wolbachia presence, natural bacterial profiles and endogenous viruses infection, within the same individual.
