Landscape view showing medical staff and patients standing around as the Embu to Meru bus has belongings unloaded from the roof. The introduction of a bus service in 1945 saw an increase in admissions to the hospital as patients started coming in from further afield; 1949 saw the admission of 3,690 patients. ❧ The image is from the collection of Dr Archibald Clive Irvine (1893-1974) showing the period from 1928-1961 at the Chogoria mission which was established in 1922.
