This study continued a project aiming at empirically investigating the plurilingual creativity paradigm. It looked at how plurilingual and pluricultural factors interactively influence the contribution of general motivation to the motivation for creativity. Online data collection included assessments of language repertoire (measured by the number of languages spoken by participants and their overall proficiency in these languages), multicultural experience (measured by Multicultural Experience Questionnaire), intercultural competence (measured by Integrative Intercultural Competence Survey), and motivation for creativity (measured by Creativity Motivation Scale). A series of regression analyses using moderated moderation models obtained evidence for the interaction of the number of spoken languages and lack of ethnocentrism on the contribution of general motivation to the motivation for creativity. These findings emphasized that fostering an environment that values cultural diversity and promotes language learning could potentially enhance creativity motivation, especially among those who are generally less motivated.
