V4 region of 16S rRNA gene sequence reads of guinea pig cecum microbiota

In the current study, the Andina, Inti and Peru breeds of guinea pig were subjected to the comparative study of their cecum microbiota by Metataxonomic approach (using the V4 region of the 16S rRNA gene MiSeq high throughput sequencing technology). The aim of this study is to analyze the cecum microbiota, further illustrating the comparison in bacterial composition and diversity between the cecum microbiota of these breeds, which is important for the potential discovery of probiotics and microbial biomarkers that could be shared or present in one of these breeds.
