Background The Pregnancy Nutritional Surveillance System (PNSS) is part of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). The PNSS gathers data on the nutritional and behavioral risk factors that are associated with infant mortality and other poor birth outcomes among low-income pregnant women in the United States. PNSS data includes: pre-pregnancy weight status, weight gain, parity, interpregnancy intervals, anemia, WIC enrollment, vitamin consumption, smoking, and drinking . Data Notes Participants are low-income pregnant women who utilized federally funded maternal and child health and nutrition programs.
