NRS-20458 | Plan catalogue registers for miscellaneous plans [Department of Lands]

The registers were developed to ensure that plan numbers were not duplicated and also to register plans sent to a Land District Office. The registers were used to indicate the availability, or otherwise, of large numbers for use. The catalogue functioned as an index where required.The volumes were a catalogue for the Crown plan number (large number) for the miscellaneous series (small number) when plans were registered by District Survey Offices. Details for each plan indicate the purposes for the plans, including lot numbers and easements purchased or resumed for various public purposes.The volumes contain summary information for the plan or large numbers under column headings which are titled as portion number, parish, registration papers number and occasionally the name of the surveyor. A section at the front features alphabetically-tabbed pages which were used as an index to the entries in the registers.The volumes are arranged alphabetically by miscellaneous series area, followed by the plan number (small number) within each volume.
