Spider communities link above- and below-ground food webs: high-throughput sequencing of Hexapoda prey from spider samples

Feedbacks between above- and below-ground processes of biological communities are keys to conserve/manage natural/agricultural ecosystems. However, as above- and below-ground food webs are often studied separately, our knowledge of material flow and community dynamics in terrestrial ecosystems has still been limited. Based on a high-throughput sequencing analysis of predator-prey interactions, we examined whether spiders link above- and below-ground food webs as generalist predators.
