Bacterial Residents of the Zebrafish Gut

The aim of this study was to investigate the host range of an introduced multidrug-resistance (MDR) plasmid in the culturable gut microbiome of zebrafish (Danio rerio) through in vitro and in vivo conjugation experiments, and how it is affected by the plasmid donor. The 16S rRNA sequences in this archive represent the resident microbial members from the guts of the fish populations used in this study. The study consisted of four fish per sample and four replicates for each of the two treatments. For the two different treatments, the fish were fed food mixed with an E. coli either with or without the multidrug resistance plasmid, pB10::gfp.
