Sphingomonas sp. SKA58. This strain belongs to a genus of aerobic, heterotrophic bacteria widely distributed in nature. Sphingomonas sp. strain SKA58 was isolated from seawater taken at a depth of 2 to 5 meters from the north Atlantic Ocean. This strain will be used for comparative genomics with other marine microorganisms.
