HOW TO IMPROVE STUDENT ENGAGEMENT DURING LESSONS?

This article explores practical approaches to increasing student engagement in lessons for grades 3 to 6 at School No. 36. When students are energized and interested, they participate more actively in class, which often leads to better academic performance. However, many young learners tend to lose interest during traditional, teacher-centered lessons. As a result, their motivation and participation levels can drop. The purpose of this article is to highlight teaching strategies that help students stay focused, motivated, and actively involved in lessons. These activities were designed to make learning more enjoyable, engaging, and centered on the students themselves. Through these interactive teaching strategies, I noticed a significant boost in student engagement. Students became more interested in lessons, participated eagerly in activities, and grew more confident in expressing their ideas. Collaborative tasks and games not only encouraged participation but also helped students develop essential skills like communication, teamwork, and critical thinking. In summary, using interactive, student-centered teaching methods can make a real difference in boosting student engagement. Teachers should strive to create a classroom environment where students feel motivated and empowered to take an active role in their own learning. My experiences at School No. 36 with grades 3 to 6 suggest that these strategies not only enhance academic performance but also improve overall classroom behavior.
