Identity fusion, interpersonal trust, and solidarity among Mexican soccer fans

Our study looks at the interplay among identity fusion theory, interpersonal trust, and solidarity among Mexican football fans. A composite survey using two existing scales was distributed online to male followers of one of the 18 teams that make up the first division of the Mexican football league. There were 601 responses in numbers proportional to the number of fans of each team. The first scale measures identity fusion (Gómez et al., 2011). The second scale uses the questions regarding trust and solidarity from Grootaert et al's. (2003) measure of social capital. Responses are in Spanish.
