Raw Dataset on Stress, Depression, and Social Support in Older Adults from Rural Northern Peru

This dataset contains anonymized survey responses from 166 older adults (aged 60+) living in a rural sugar-cane district in northern Peru. The study investigated the relationships between perceived stress, depressive symptoms, and four dimensions of perceived social support: emotional, instrumental, affectionate, and positive social interaction. Data were collected using culturally validated Spanish versions of the PSS-4, GDS-15, and MOS-SSS instruments. This dataset supports the manuscript entitled <i>"Perceived Social Support Mediates, but Instrumental Assistance Buffers, the Stress–Depression Link in Older Adults from Rural Northern Peru."</i>
