Binary black hole merger data from a refined metallicity grid of Cluster Monte Carlo simulations

These text files contains a list of 20,904 binary black hole (BBH) mergers formed in a set of 48 dense star cluster models created using Cluster Monte Carlo (CMC), as described in Agrawal et al. (2026, submitted). BBHmergers_CMC_metallicitygrid_new.dat contains 6,408 mergers from the new models in the refined metallicity grid, corresponding to models 150-177. BBHmergers_CMC_metallicitygrid_old.dat contains 14,496 mergers from the models in the original CMC Catalog grid in Kremer et al. (2020), corresponding to models 1-148, as well as model 149 described in Mai et al. (2026). The data columns (indexed from zero) are as follows: 0) model number; 1) virial radius in pc; 2) galactocentric radius in kpc; 3) cluster metallicity Z; 4) cluster N divided by 1e5; 5) BBH merger time in Myr; 6) BH1 CMC ID number; 7) BH2 CMC ID number; 8) BH1 mass in m_sun; 9) BH2 mass in m_sun; 10) BH1 dimensionless spin; 11) BH2 dimensionless spin; 12) BH1 generation number; 13) BH2 generation number; 14) GW recoil kick velocity in km/s; 15) cluster escape velocity in km/s; 16) BBH formation channel; 17) merger product CMC ID number; 18) merger product mass in m_sun; 19) merger product dimensionless spin; 20) merger product generation number; 21) final recorded BBH semi-major axis in AU; 22) final recorded BBH eccentricity; 23) estimated BBH eccentricity at a GW frequency of 10 Hz. In column 16, merger channels are coded by the following values: 0) primordial binary mergers; 1) dynamically assembled merger occuring after ejection from cluster; 2) dynamically assembled merger occuring within cluster; 3) in-cluster merger via GW capture during 3-body scattering; 4) in-cluster merger via GW capture during 4-body scattering; 5) in-cluster merger from 2-body GW capture.
