资源简介:
This survey among male clients of sex workers and potential male clients of sex workers, aimed to: 1) identify and describe segments of the population in terms of ever having sex with sex workers and having had sex with sex workers four of more times in the last six months; 2) identify behavioral determinants of the two aforementioned behaviors; 3) provide baseline data for project logframe indicators; and 4) apply study findings to design interventions aimed at reducing the risk of HIV transmission among male clients of sex workers and potential male clients of sex workers. This monitoring and segmentation analysis is based on data collected in four provinces of Vietnam in June 2007. Male respondents, aged 18-40, were sampled from entertainment establishment venues, mainly beer halls and popular restaurants. Multi staged cluster sampling was used to recruit 1003 eligible men for the baseline survey. A screening questionnaire and main questionnaire served as survey tools. The questionnaire collected information on background characteristics, behavior related to having sex with sex workers, condom use with different sexual partners, social norms, locus of control, social support and beliefs related to having sex with sex workers. Multivariate analyses were performed to identify significant factors associated with having sex with sex workers. Simple descriptive analyses were run on data to permit monitoring of project indicators. Results are presented in standard PSI Dashboard form.
