Poultry litter biochar soil amendment increased growth of barley (Hordeum vulgare) in conmtrolled microcosm experiments. The biochar amendment also resulted in shifts in microbial community structures as established through 16S rRNA gene analysis (PCR-DGGE and next generation sequencing).
