Pre-Scandian basin architecture of an Alpine-type metaperidotite-bearing assemblage, Scandinavian Caledonides, Norway

This dataset relates to the research article "Pre-Scandian basin architecture of an Alpine-type metaperidotite-bearing assemblage, Scandinavian Caledonides, Norway", submitted to the AGU journal - G cubed - September 2026. It includes additional field and thin section images of the lithological units mapped in the study area (metasediments and amphibolites, metaperidotites, and detrital ultramafic rocks - Sjongseter Complex), as well as detrital zircon geochronology data, that support the information presented in the article. All the folders in the dataset follow this organization scheme (lithological units), except for the geochronology folder, which contains data of a single metasediment sample. Also, note that each field images folder includes non-referenced images that are not linked to specific geographic coordinates in the field area. These are complementary images that further elucidate the general geological relations identified.
