ADHD_Temperament

This data pertains to a cross-sectional study conducted at outpatient facilities within the Psychiatry and Clinical Psychology Department of a hospital in Beirut, Lebanon. The study aims to explore how temperaments, measured with the TEMPS-A scale can predict ADHD in adult psychiatric outpatients in Lebanon.Participants completed the TEMPS-A scale in Arabic and underwent a clinical assessment by a senior psychiatrist and a physician assistant. Diagnosis followed DSM-5 criteria, and patients were classified into three categories: definite ADHD, probable ADHD, and possible ADHD. Only those with current-definite or current-probable were included, while individuals with a prior or possible ADHD diagnosis were excluded.Temperament was assessed using the TEMPS-A, a self-administered scale evaluating five temperaments: dysthymic, cyclothymic, hyperthymic, irritable, and anxious. The TEMPS-A has been validated in Lebanese-Arabic.<br><br>This study was approved by the Institutional Review Board (IRB) committee of the SGHUMC Faculty of Medicine, University of Balamand, Lebanon (registered with the U.S. Office of Human Research Protections (OHRP) in the Department of Health and Human Services).
