K. pneumoniae community-acquired has been described with hypermucoviscous phenotype and susceptible to the most antibiotics. This hypermucoviscous phenotype is related with the hypervirulent K. pneumoniae isolates, which is considered a new variant of K. pneumoniae and was reported in the 1980’s. Actually is considered as the pathogen of primary liver abscesses. Nevertheless, to the best of our knowledge K. pneumoniae isolates causing community-acquired infections, has not described in Mexico. This project includes K. pneumoniae classical with susceptible and multi resistance phenotype, likewise obtained from plants and humans.
