The AxonCallosumEM Dataset was constructed by the School of Electronic and Information Engineering, Soochow University, targeting semantic segmentation of axons in full cross-sections of the corpus callosum from electron microscopy (EM) images. The dataset comprises 1.83 × 5.76 mm EM images acquired from a Rett syndrome (RTT) mouse model, with over 600,000 1024 × 1024 resolution patches fully annotated to offer comprehensive ground truth for myelinated axons and myelin sheaths. It is split into three disjoint subsets for training, testing, and validation, facilitating the development and benchmarking of methods for global corpus callosum reconstruction. This dataset finds applications in neuroscience research, where it addresses the challenge of accurately reconstructing the complex morphologies of axons and myelin sheaths.
