Global number of industrial robot installations 2019-2022, by sector

Industrial robot installations grew in nearly all sectors around the globe from 2019 to 2022. In the automotive and metal and electronics industries there was a slump in 2020, likely owing to significant drop in demand due to the Covid-19 pandemic. The largest growth of installations in 2022 was in the electronics and electrical sector, which grew nearly 15 percent in installation numbers.
