Algal cover and biomass on the mudflats of the Virginia Coast, 2015, 2016 and 2018

In May and July of 2015 benthic macroalgae biomass was measured throughout the Virginia Coast Reserve to assess variation on intertidal mudflats, especially of Gracilaria vermiculophylla. (data table 1) In 2016, nine tidal flats were sampled for macroalgal cover, and biomass (data tables 2 and 3) Macroalgal mass were collected from 36 mudflats sites in May 2018. Eight samples collected from randomly selected points along a single 120 m transect (data table 4).
