Human activities weaken community coupling

In this study, we used environmental DNA (eDNA) metabarcoding to investigate biodiversity patterns and cross-habitat community coupling among archaea, bacteria, protists, invertebrates, and fish. Our dataset comprised 921 samples collected from water, sediment, biofilms, soils, and air across the transitional zone between northern and southern China, enabling us to capture spatial, temporal, and anthropogenic gradients.
