Whole Genome Sequencing and molecular analysis of ceftazidime-avibactam resistant KPC-producing -Klebsiella pneumoniae from intestinal colonization in elderly patients

Ceftazidime-avibactam (CAV) is an effective antibiotic combination of a beta-lactam/beta-lactamase inhibitor against carbapenemase-producing Enterobacterales. Reports of resistance to CAV, mainly caused by the mutations in KPC enzyme, have increased in recent years. The aim of this study was to analyze Klebsiella pneumoniae isolates resistant to CAV from intestinal carriage of hospitalized elderly patients.
