资源简介:
Indonesia, a country rich in biodiversity and cultural heritage, possesses extensive knowledge of herbal processing passed down through generations. In this context, an education and recreation center play a crucial role not only in educating visitors about relevant topics but also in becoming an interconnected system within a larger framework encompassing sustainable social, economic, and cultural aspects. By adopting a holistic design approach, the planning of this center can offer a profound experience that educates, inspires, and connects people with their environment while introducing culture and empowering the local economy. A holistic design approach considers the relationships between various elements and their impacts within a system, provides a design framework aligned with sustainability concepts. The research method used is a mixed-method approach. The quantitative method involves distributing questionnaires to gather public opinions on products containing herbal ingredients as the topic of the case study design. The qualitative method involves interviewing several sources regarding the technical details of the facilities. Additionally, a literature review is conducted to assess the facility needs and the theories of the holistic approach to be applied in the design. Through this research, the holistic approach can be explored to the extent that the topic of Indonesian herbology becomes the soul underlying the concept of an interior which could be created into a model to shape a more comprehensive sustainable mindset in future interior design that encompasses education, aesthetics, culture, and economic support, creating a harmonious and interconnected system that is both recreational and sustainable.
