Investigation of Gata2 L359V mutation in hematopoiesis and leukemogenesis

GATA2, an essential transcription factor in fetal and adult hematopoiesis, is frequently found to be mutated in hematopoietic malignancies. However, the function of mutated GATA2 in hematopoiesis and malignant transformation remains largely unexplored. Here, we found that the Gata2 L359V mutation impeded hematopoietic differentiation in fetal and adult hematopoiesis and contributed to blocking the chronic myeloid leukemia (CML) cell differentiation.
