Hermetia illucens (black soldier fly): chromosome scale genome assembly and gene annotation

Chromosome-scale genome assembly of Hermetia illucens by combining PacBio long-read sequencing and assembly with Omni-C proximity ligation technology, HiRise Illumina sequencing, and assembly. The final assembly was 888.59 Mb in size, with a scaffold N50 value of 162.19 Mb and a scaffold L50 value of 3. H. illucens final assembly was found to be one of the dipterans highest quality genome assembly. The Lsp-2 gene of this genome is also annotated.
