NRS-3688 | Correspondence files re artificial insemination

These files relate to all aspects of the artificial insemination and breeding programme at Graham Park, Berry. The A.I. Centre and its functions were transferred to the Department of Agriculture in 1978. They consist of: correspondence regarding the establishment and function of the artificial insemination program at Berry; relevant legislation; free artificial inseminations as drought relief; the appointment of the Director at Berry; publications; conferences; experimentation; pricing policy; correspondence with the Artificial Stock Breeding Station Advisory Committee; and correspondence with dairy herd societies regarding artificial insemination. Until 1972, artificial insemination files were registered in the same sequence as the General administrative correspondence files, but filed separately. After 1972, such files were registered in a separate sequence with an "AI" prefix. 1953, 1965, 1972, 1977 (12/13863-66). 4 boxes.
