Global change effects on nitrogen loss processes

Our analysis shows that N addition treatment significantly enhances both denitrification and anammox rates, while warming treatment also promotes denitrification.We searched the Web of Science database, Google Scholar, and the China National Knowledge Infrastructure for publications reporting the effects of experimental elevated CO₂, N addition, warming, and altered precipitation manipulations on denitrification and/or anammox in the field. Here, we compiled a global dataset comprising 682 observations from 127 manipulative field experiments across the main terrestrial ecosystems.
