Combining unique geometric and magnetic anisotropy in barium hexaferrites has the potential to enhance the performance of advanced technological applications, such as data storage, spintronics, and medicine. The dataset presented outlines the underlying raw and analysed data associated with the synthesis and deposition of barium hexaferrite nanoplatelets, the structural and morphological microscopies (atomic force microscopy, scanning electron microscopy, magnetic force microscopy, vibrating sample magnetometry). Detailed micro-magnetic modelling elucidates the length scales over which these two interaction regimes are dominant, paving the way for macroscopic two-dimensional and three-dimensional structures with tuned magnetic ordering.<br>The dataset is organised by zip folders pertaining to the underlying data required to reproduce the figures themselves:Fig 1 - Scanning electron microscopy and particle size distributionsFig 2 - Scanning electron microscopy, atomic force and magnetic force microscopy imagesFig 3 - Scanning transmission electron microscopy, atomic force and magnetic force microscopy images following application of magnetic fieldsFig 4 - Micromagnetic modelling of particles in different magnetisation configurations and separationsSupplementary Fig S3 - Further supporting micro magnetic modelling of the nanoparticles and field distributions
