Herein, we report the chemical and biological investigation of Vibrio spartinae 3.6 and wide-range screening of the antimicrobial activity of the isolated molecules revealed that the major prodigiosin is particularly effective, as both an inhibitory and bactericidal agent, against L. monocytogenes the causative agent of listeriosis (WHO, Listeriosis, 20 February 2018), and Stenotrophomonas maltophilia, one of the leading drug-resistant hospital-associated pathogens (WHO; Public health importance of antimicrobial resistance).
