Phytolacca americana Genome sequencing

The goal of this research is to produce a genome assembly and gene annotations for Phytolacca americana (American pokeweed) and to identify early transcriptomic changes (first six hours) upon exposure of the plant to the stress hormone jasmonic acid. The purpose of this work is to further elucidate plant stress responses, and to provide resources for continued genomic research in this hardy non-model plant.
