The Australian Parliamentary Candidates Study was undertaken primarily to compile information on political candidates who have run for election in Australia between 1890 and 1999. Candidates represented in the study include those who have run in both State and Federal elections and by-elections. Variables include candidate's name, occupation, party affiliation at each election, State/Territory in which they stood, the year(s) they ran and page number.
