First isotopic study of the Talgua River Basin, Honduras

These data include stable isotopes of water and precipitation data. This study was carried out at the Talgua River basin in southern Honduras and aimed to determine the contributions of different moisture sources to rainfall generation in northeastern Honduras and the main groundwater recharge mechanisms in the karst environment of the Talgua River basin. We found a strong seasonality of precipitation in the Talgua River basin which biased groundwater recharge toward the peak rainy season, with recharge further influenced by recycled moisture inputs and evaporation effects driven by land use and the climatic conditions of northeastern Honduras.
