Nnamdi Azikiwe University Herbarium (NAUH), Is an institutional herbarium to Department of Botany, Nnamdi Azikiwe University Awka, located in south eastern Nigeria, Precisely in Awka the capital city of Anambra State, the general herbarium is located within the building of the Departmental Laboratory which houses about 500 specimens of vascular, non-vascular plants and cryptogams, but still growing with each new collection. The sources of NAUH materials are from collections done in the field by students of Botany and relative Department whose interest in plant research often Drives them to bring along different plant materials for taxonomic identification after exploration on the field for suitable plant for research purposes. New plant are collected and preserved on both weekly and daily basis to serve the growing need of vast majority of plant researchers, in Eastern and Southern region of Nigeria, the main Purpose of NAUH is to Collect, Identify, Preserve and Document plant specimen for Academic research purposes, Voucher numbers are given in Alphabetic order to the Family in which the plant belongs, The dataset presently holds about 262 records of herbarium specimens collected between 2005 – 2016, consisting of 68 Families, 197 Genera and 237 Species.
