Total employee income of professional soccer 2009-2017, by league

From 2009 to 2017, the total employee income of the Serie A soccer league in Italy rose overall. In 2009, it amounted to approximately one billion euros. In 2017, this figure rose to 1.2 billion euros. Similarly, the total employee income of the Serie B league increased, reaching 190 million euros in 2017. Italy is part of the biggest top-tier soccer leagues in Europe ("Big Five") with a total revenue of 2.49 billion euros as of the 2018/2019 season.
