资源简介:
The project has developed and tested a new class of antimicrobial branched peptides that can be used both as soluble form or for the functionalisation of clinically-available or novel wound dressings. The work shows the antimicrobial activity of these branched poly(epsilon-lysine) peptides, known as dendrons, against Staphylococcus aureus. These peptides were shown to be able to have bactericidal activity on bacterium planktonic cultures as well as to prevent and eradicate biofilms of the same species. A link between the increasing number of the dendron molecular branching and the antibacterial activity against Staphylococcus aureus was demonstrated.
