Organic carbon and lignin parameters in riverbank soils along two major rivers of China

This study analyzed grain size composition, specific surface area (SSA), total OC (TOC), stable carbon isotopic composition (δ13C), lignin phenols, and thermal gravimetric properties of riverbank soils from the Changjiang and Huanghe. The overarching objective was to enhance our understanding of the sources, distribution, degradation, and thermal stability of OC and lignin in these two major river systems of China.
