资源简介:
The purpose of an admission register was to record basic details about children admitted to the school, and about their parents or guardians. The registers were also used to record the progress of the children through various classes and the date of their leaving the school. These volumes contain information pertaining to each pupil including: date of admission; pupil's name; date of birth; religious denomination; name of previous school and date of leaving. The following details are recorded about the child's parents or guardians: name, residence and occupation. The pupil's date of admission to each subsequent grade, date of leaving the school and any occupation entered into on leaving school is also recorded; this last column is also used to indicate the school to which a pupil may have transferred. The series from Dalwood Public School is represented now by its second and final volume, which covers enrolments current during 1923, and all subsequent admissions.Girls and boys are listed on opposite pages in order of admission. Until the end of 1958, entries are numbered 1-157 for boys, and 1-172 for girls. Thereafter, although boys’ and girls’ admissions are still recorded on opposite pages, the numbering of the two is consolidated, running regardless of gender from 173 to the final admission, numbered 233. The first nineteen boys’ entries in this volume, and the first twenty girls’ entries, also bear duplicate numbers in broken series running from 125-165 and 107-155 respectively; these entries appear to have been transferred from the previous volume of the series (whose whereabouts is not now known), and the duplicate numbers will be those which they bore in the earlier volume.
