The genomes of two Staphylococcus capitis subsp. capitis strains were sequenced(Illumina HiSeq, PE250, Illumina and MinION, R9.4.1, Oxford NanoporeTechnologies), assembled, annotated and used for comparative genomics analysis.One strain is the Staphylococcus capitis subsp. capitis type strain DSM 20326 whichwas obtained from the German Collection of Cell Cultures and Microorganisms(DSMZ). The other strain, K1-2-2-23, was isolated from a V2A steel surface thatderived from an exposure experiment aboard the International Space Station ISS.
